"A lot of people who are in charge of the comedy business are people who have no clue about comedy," Brill says. "And they're booking major shows or major situations and they have no idea what they're saying. And they don't know comedians. They don't know what it takes to go onstage and to bomb or to fail."
Now Brill has the career every comedian dreams of. He just finished acting in a TV show with Leary, will release a comedy album this fall, and tape a half-hour special for Comedy Central this winter.
"I'm having the best year of my life," he says. "It's one great thing after another."
